For over 12 years, Lauren attended the annual Texas Conference for Women as a social media street team member. She shared the day’s learnings on her social media channels to create awareness among her network.
So, Lauren was thrilled the organizers approached her to lead public relations efforts in 2024. LHPR created a media plan for pre-event, day-of and post-event press. This resulted in 21 earned media pieces. Impressed with her results, the conference team invited her to manage the 2025 California Conference for Women.
Padel39 founder Will Boyce asked LHPR to help him introduce Austin to padel in 2024. A tennis enthusiast, Lauren was eager for this public relations project and delighted to learn more about this new-to-Austin sport.
Beloved in Spain and Latin America, padel is a mixture of tennis, pickleball and squash. We invited journalists and influencers to Padel39 for a lesson with the onsite pro.
We also invited media to the club’s grand opening — influencers, TV crews and reporters — resulting in a nice mix of earned media. We partnered with CBS “We Are Austin” to film a longer segment once the club opened. Ultimately, we garnered 12 press hits for Padel39 including emails with ATX Today and CultureMap, this roundup in Tribeza and a business overview in the Austin Business Journal.
After 16 years of working for others, Mandy Hasty & Hajer Carula fulfilled their dream of opening their own hair salon. The upscale 416 & Mane opened in May, 2024.
LHPR helped spread the word about this Cedar Park gem, securing four media placements. This included a lifestyle feature in the Austin American-Statesman, Community Impact, Cedar Park City Lifestyle, and a TV segment on Spectrum News.
Iris Apfel, may her memory be a blessing, was known for her oversized eyeglasses and bold accessories. Fewer people knew about her passion for educating young people. Iris partnered with The University of Texas Division of Textiles and Apparel to offer students a yearly learning experience in NYC. Iris also knew how some students struggled to afford the adventure.
So, she and UT Professor Sarah Stewart Stevens created an oversized coloring book. It featured whimsical drawings and Iris’ witty sayings. Sales benefitted a scholarship fund for students.
LHPR was looped into the project a full year before PR began. Lauren encouraged the team to launch sales in the spring of 2020. Press outreach was successful, culminating in 28 press pieces including the New York Times Open Thread fashion newsletter and People magazine.
Alta Alexander built a successful career in communications but dreamed of owning a clothing boutique. When Alta’s husband surprised her with a storefront on Valentine’s Day 2017, Alta spent the remainder of the year remodeling.
Once open, Alta wasn’t seeing the customer traffic she hoped for — or needed — even though her store was filled with carefully selected fashions.

Lauren set to work securing media coverage to increase Altatudes visibility. Alta’s story was great! She was a female business owner in East Austin.
Lauren knew how to frame and pitch Alta’s story to local media outlets, quickly securing a front-page lifestyle story in the Austin American-Statesman. This placement drove new clients into the boutique, increased traffic through the remainder of the year and established the brand in a crowded industry.
The wins kept coming. Lauren secured profiles in the Austin Business Journal, Texas Lifestyle Magazine, the On the Spot Woman podcast… plus recurring fashion segments on the Austin lifestyle show Studio 512.
While working together, Altatudes won numerous awards: Austin Monthly’s Best of ATX Award - Best New Boutique and a Greater Austin Business Award in Customer Service. She was also recognized as a 2018 Austin Business Journal Profiles in Power nominee.
