Firehouse Animal Health Center hired LHPR in 2013 to develop and execute a media plan for their new — and growing — veterinary business.
Lauren quickly secured a weekly appearance on KXAN so Firehouse’s founder could educate about pet health. LHPR continued earning hyperlocal, local and national coverage to showcase Firehouse doctors as industry experts.
When Firehouse opened a third location in 2018, Lauren noticed each veterinarian used different descriptions to describe the company. She suggested a messaging project. And her role began its evolution into Firehouse’s Marketing Strategist.
Lauren ultimately managed all Firehouse marketing and branding efforts in Austin and Denver. She worked with the group’s 10 hospitals to lead daily marketing efforts. She also managed two brand extension projects to open Firehouse Pet Resort (2020) and Mountain Star Veterinary Specialists (2022).
LHPR helped Firehouse earn numerous honors including placements on the Austin American-Statesman’s Best Places to Work list (2018-2021 & 2023), Austin Young Chamber’s FAVE Awards for Community Outreach (2018) and the Greater Chamber Awards for Community Relations (2019, 2020).
LHPR strategized and oversaw:
A website overhaul and annual updates
Improved collateral design and streamlined printing efforts
Photoshoots for enhanced visual marketing
Video production to share company, client and nonprofit partner stories
Writing and designing monthly email newsletters to 35,000 clients
Dozens of blog posts to showcase each brand’s expertise
Developed and maintained brand ambassador programs
Social media campaigns and reputation management
Public relations (earned and paid media placements resulting in 275+ media placements over eleven years. See here, here and here.)
Lauren’s work with Firehouse and its brand extensions was deeply fulfilling, both personally and professionally.
It offered her the chance to sharpen her marketing skillset, learn from top-notch business executives, and manage an internal marketing team.
It also encouraged her family to finally make the leap and adopt their beloved mini Bernadoodle, Milo!
Something she learned: keep your pet’s teeth clean. It’ll keep them by your side for longer.
LHPR began working with Dr. Ted Lain, MD, Board Certified Dermatologist in 2014.
Lauren helped his business grow through repeat appearances on local news shows (KVUE Midday and Fox Good Day Austin).
During the seven years they worked together, Lauren and her team established Dr. Lain as an industry authority. They secured 300+ interviews in local and national media, including the Austin American- Statesman, Austin 360 Parenting Blog, ATX Woman, Texas Lifestyle Magazine, Austin Family Magazine, Teen Vogue, Well + Good, Southern Living, In Style and The Zoe Report.
Lauren’s favorite article is this one in Seventeen magazine, a publication she adored during middle and high school. Growing up, Seventeen was her go-to guide for advice and inspiration. Placing a story in her teenage bible was a full-circle moment.
Something she learned: all the lotions and potions in the world won’t keep you looking young like applying daily sunscreen will.
